GDPR & Cyber Security

UK GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) represented a pivotal change in Data Protection and came into effect on 25th May 2018.  Although originally  a European Directive it was incorporated into UK law on the implementation of Brexit.

UK GDPR brought a raft of new requirements, penalties and considerations in handling personal data and requires all Businesses, Schools, Organisations, Charities & Public Bodies to reconsider how they process, store and protect data.

The key to GDPR is Training, Policies, Procedures, Reviews and Enforcement within an Organisation.

MARCOM offers a programme of Cyber Security Awareness Training through Simulation and Campaigns.  This is not once a year or 6-monthly, it is regular bite-sized training delivered to staff meeting government guidelines. 

Cyber Security should be at the core of any data handling and storage system, with good cyber security providing many of the answers to surviving GDPR.

Cyber Security should also be at the core of IoT and UIoT and any automated system.
